His debut album, to be released on the Fresh Sound label in November 2023 features all original compositions which draw on literature, film and music.

The first single ‘Karenin’ will be released on September 22nd 2023

“I have always been fascinated by human society’s relationship to time, how it impacts our perception of the world, and how artists of all sorts strive to create a “bubble”. This somehow fixes time in place in the music, story, film, painting etc, but also the time flows naturally within it. The art creates a reflection of time passing within it and outside it. Remembering the past is like dreaming, at once unreal and yet vivid and with a profound effect on the present. I wanted this album to encapsulate this so that each composition has a clear emotional substance but also a sense of lightness and brevity, much like the surreal nature of a memory.”  

‘Noah Stoneman is my oldest friend and musical collaborator. Our first performance was when we were 6 and we have grown in parallel ever since. We have spent many long hours practicing, listening; playing, talking about music. We are always the first to play each others compositions. 

Freddie Jensen and I met at the Royal Academy of music’s junior programme and we have played for almost a decade. Freddie is a truly exceptional musician, winner of many awards. His beautiful musical choices and flawless accuracy elevates everything he is a part of. 

James Maddren is a world class, unique, masterful and exciting drummer. It was a privilege to record with him. He brought much wisdom to this recording session drawing on his wealth of experience and refined musical judgment.’
